If you are a car buff then you really want to stop at the museum and see the display of over 100 vehicles, including cars, trucks and motorcycles, from the early 1920’s through the muscle cars of the 60’s and 70’s.
When you walk in you will see a number of the classic cars from different eras. You will actually see a DeLorean made popular by “Back to the Future” movie. Makes you want to hop in and go for a ride but you had better just get your picture taken beside it.
Not only does the museum have cars but it also has Barbie dolls, Barbie cars, and accessories, Cabbage Patch dolls and celebrity dolls like Pee Wee Herman. There is old photography and motion picture equipment, a dozen vintage arcade games which are available for you to play for a quarter each. There is a player piano, collection of American dollars from Colonial times forward, vintage gas pumps and a collection of vintage women’s fashion circa 1940.
You can watch the workman restoring classic cars in the garage to add to the collection.
Many of the cars that are on display are for sale so if you have always wanted a particular one, you probably can find it and buy it at Ellingson Car Museum.
You will be able to see a Packard, and Edsel, a Studebaker and a Hudson Hornet. Along with these there is a General Lee.
Throughout the museum, there are videos playing that tell more about some of the cars and run in continuous 10-15-minute loops.
There is a gift shop that includes hundreds of items and a very comprehensive selection of books, manuals and magazines for the automotive and tractor enthusiast. The gift shop is open to the public at all times and does not require an admission fee to shop.
