The Mayo Clinic offers the opportunity to choose from one (or more) of seven tours to learn about this fabulous medical facility and all it has to offer.
There is the "General Tour" which includes a 20 minute historical film about the Mayo Clinic, followed by a 1 ½ hour walking tour of the downtown Mayo campus. One general tour is offered at 10 a.m., Monday through Friday. The tour begins in Judd Auditorium located in the subway level of the Mayo Building. If you have questions, please call (507) 538-0440.
Then there is the "Art and Architecture tour" which is offered Monday through Friday from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tours begin in Judd Auditorium located in the subway level of the Mayo Building. If you have questions, please call (507) 284-1545.
You might choose "A self-guided audio art tour" which is available to help patients and their guests enjoy the many examples of fine artwork displayed at the downtown campus. Audio hand-held devices and maps can be obtained at the Information Desk in the Gonda Building, lobby level, between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.
If you are interested you can take a "self-guided tour of Saint Marys Hospital" between the hours of 8 a.m. and 8:30 p.m. Tour brochures are available at the Information Desks at the hospital.
Are you interested in the history of the clinic? If so you may choose the this one. Patients and their guests may tour the suite that includes the original offices of Drs. William J. and Charles H. Mayo. Located on the third floor of the Plummer Building, the suite is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
If you want a better understanding of where the clinic has been and what the plans are for the future you may want to take this tour. Mayo Clinic Heritage Hall, located in the Mathews Grand Lobby of the Mayo Building, presents multimedia displays that link Mayo’s history with our current activities and our plans for the future. Heritage Hall is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. For more information, please call (507) 284-8540.
