Land Between the Lakes Triathlon - Albert Lea, Minnesota

This annual event tests the best of anyone that participates.  The race start and transition will be at the west end of Edgewater Park. The race will begin with a .25 mile open water swim in Fountain Lake. Participants will then transition to a 19.8 mile bike through Albert Lea area country side, fairly flat with some rolling hills, mostly on newly paved roads. Racers will then transition for a 4.2 mile run along scenic Edgewater Park and Fountain Lake, fairly flat and fast course with minimal traffic.

This is Minnesota so it may be cold during the race and the water certainly will be chilly so be prepared for it.  The use if a wetsuit is highly recommended.

Pickle Events Management will provide race results including race splits
Helmets are required
Wet suits are permitted
No outside assistance
No drafting: each bicycle has and imaginary box two meters wide and seven meters long. You have 15 seconds to travel through another’s space when passing.
Fins, snorkels and life preservers are not permitted.
Transition area: No glass. All participants must return their bicycle to designated corral. Only race participants will be allowed to pick up bicycles.
Race participants substitutions are not allowed
No dogs allowed
Race directors reserve the right to make race course changes as needed.

Directions: Approaching from North, East or South
1. If you are coming from the Austin area head towards Albert Lea then merge onto I-35 S via exit number 159A toward ALBERT LEA/ DES MOINES. If coming from the north head south toward Albert Lea and exit as indicated below. If coming from the south head north toward Albert Lea and exit as indicated below.
2. Merge onto I-90 W via exit number 13B toward SIOUX FALLS.
3. Take the MN-13 exit- exit number 154- toward ALBERT LEA / WASECA.
4. Turn LEFT onto MN-13 S. (69)
5. Turn LEFT onto MUSKIE AVE.
Turn RIGHT onto EDGEWATER DR.

Approaching from West

1. Head east on I-90 toward Albert Lea and take the MN-13 exit- number 154- toward WASECA / ALBERT LEA.
2. Turn RIGHT onto MN-13 S. (69)
3. Turn LEFT onto MUSKIE AVE..
4. Turn RIGHT onto EDGEWATER DR.
