Fort Belmont - Jackson, Minnesota

Fort Belmont hosts several different items of interest including a sod house, the 1873 Farmhouse, Blacksmith shop, Log Cabin and Stockade, 1902 Delafield Lutheran Church and the gift shop.

The church is home to weddings as well as WWW (Worship, Word and Watermelon) services each Sunday at 7:00 p.m. June thru August. A Rendezvous is held annually at the Fort the weekend after Labor Day.

Weekend Activities include:
Old time kid and women’s games
Axe throwing competition
Black Powder Rifle shoot competition
Buckskin traders
Pioneer demonstrations
Primitive camping available on site

Primitive camping, cooking over an open fires, blacksmithing, demonstrations of pioneer living and other trades of the 1800’s era will be available to experience. Watch or join in the Black Powder Rifle shoot on Saturday, take a horse-drawn wagon ride, or just enjoy the beautiful fall prairie flowers. You will want to bring the family back on Sunday morning to join in the Pioneer Games. Food will be available.

Location: just south of the I-90/MN Highway 71 Intersection in Jackson, MN 56143

Directions: From Interstate 90, go south on MN Highway
71, beneath the overpass, to the first intersection. Turn right (West), travel past the Conoco and Kemna Asa Auto Dealership. The road turns to gravel after about 1/4 mile. Fort Belmont is at the end of this road, about 1/2 mile west on the gravel.
