St. Cloud has one of the outstanding colleges in Minnesota with over 175 academic programs, having more than 1000 international students from 90 different countries enableing students to get a world wide experience and learn about other cultures right on the college campus.  There are approximately 16,000 students attending the college.

The college sits on 100 acres between downtown St. Cloud and and the Beaver Islands, a group of more than 30 islands that form a natural maze for a two-mile stretch of the river.  

They are the second largest university in Minnesota and yet have a faculty to student  ratio of 19.1.

The college is located on the Mississippi River and was founded in 1869 and was granted University status in 1975.
