Heritage Village – East Grand Forks, Minnesota. The village purpose is to preserve the history of the northern Red River Valley. Once a year, during Heritage Days, the third week of every August, the village comes to life with many people and much to do!
There are tours of pioneer buildings, steam engine threshing machines, museum displays and demonstrations along with a wide range of other opportunities for a great family time.
While on your tour you will see the Nesbit House which was built in 1871 by David Nisbet. The James Lee family moved into the house in 1880 and purchased the land in 1885. (Mrs. James Lee was Christina Nesbet). The house stayed in the Lee family until 1944 when it was sold to the Peterson’s.
