If you have ever wondered how Christmas trees get their start, then you need to take a visit to Pinehaven Farm. This attraction can be found at 28186 Kettle River Boulevard in Wyoming, MN. It is just a short 30 minute drive from either of the Twin Cities, and it is easy to find because it is just off of Wyoming exit 135. Not only is this an actual working Christmas tree farm, it is also a great opportunity to have some outdoor fun and learn about one of the most interesting processes around.

The Hastings family at Pinehaven Farm is happy to share their beautiful farm in a variety of ways with area residents and visitors. It is a great way to spend an afternoon with the family or have a birthday party in lovely surroundings. .

Pinehaven Farm offers field trips that give visitors a chance to learn about how Christmas trees are grown from mid-April through October. These field trips give visitors a chance to see how Christmas trees are grown, and at Pinehaven Farm, they do not use any chemicals in growing those trees.

In addition, each guest learns about growing pine trees and how to take care of them. They also get to take a seedling home to plant in their own yard. Pinehaven Farm also offers an Easter Egg Hunt and a Harvest Festival. The Harvest Festival is a popular time to pick out your own pumpkin for Halloween. Guests can schedule children’s birthday parties and weddings at Pinehaven Farm, and best of all, they can get their Christmas trees from the end of November until December 24th.

The farm has many excellent amenities for guests to share. These amenities include a Trolley style wagon that allows guests to visit many areas of the farm, a playground and sandbox area, a tricycle track and peddle tractors, a barnyard train ride, etc. The staff at the farm offers various interesting and fun demonstrations and they have a wonderful collection of antique farm equipment to view.

There is a picnic shelter that is the perfect place to eat a lunch packed from home, and during the Christmas season, you can spend some time at one of the private campfire sites. There are also farm animals such as ducks, cows, goats and turkeys. The farm has many scenic areas that make great photo backdrops to remember the good times you and your family had at Pinehaven Farm. There is also a concession stand and country store at the farm and both have a variety of items that can be purchased.

During the Christmas tree season from the end of November to December 23, the farm is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on weekdays and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on weekends and is closed on Mondays. During the remainder of the year, the hours and prices vary. For instance, the Easter Egg Hunt costs $6.50 for kids and $4 for adults, the Harvest Festival is $6.50 for general admission with those under the age of two admitted for free.
