The information regarding the FHC in Grand Rapids, MN is incorrect. Our hours of operation for summer, 2010 are:
Tuesday throught Saturday 11am to 4pm – June 8th through Labor Day Weekend (yes, we are open the entire Labor Day Weekend)

Summer Adm. rates: $8 Adults (18 to 64) $6 Seniors (65+) and active military and students with ID – Children (6 to 17) $5.00 , children 5 and under free, MN Historical Society Members Free.

Winter hours: M-F 9am to 4pm – Adm Adults $4, Sr.A $3, Children $2.50. Please update your information as it is creating a problem for our guests – thank you.

We just wanted to say “THANK YOU” to everyone in the Anoka County Park System.

Last August we had our wedding at Bunker Lakes Regional Park and it was the best of the best (Of course we’re a little prejudice). We hired a caterer to cook Walleye and Pork (over an open fire) and all the fixings right after the wedding. They cooked it all right there and it was done when the service was over. We are still getting great reviews from friends and family about the great food and the good time had by all.

Anoka County really keeps the park beautiful and we are planning to, some day soon, celebrate an anniversary there.

My father was an Arctic Cat dealer for several years up in Chelmsford, Ontario, Canada and sold snowmachines and mini bikes. When my father Yvon Genereux raced snowmobiles, he was racing the 1973 Formula 250cc & 440cc open modified class? Sound familiar? He even raced against Team Arctic here in Chelmsford at Sudbury Downs racetrack back in the 70’s or 80’s. The Arctic Cat factory had given him all parts they had left down at the factory since he had such good luck in keeping this machine in the races. My brother now has this machine and would also like to restore it.

I currently have a 1972 Arctic Cat Ramrod 98cc mini bike with the kawasaki engine. I am in the process of restoring it. I was wondering if you still have any stock left for these mini bikes. If not, can you possibly send me information on who might have parts for this mini bike.

Any information or contact place for parts for the above described Arctic Cat’s would be greatly appreciated.

FYI – the 2010 Snowmobile Assembly line schedule to begin production has been pushed back to May 24th with the possibility of further delay of another week.

Keep calling Arctic Cat, you will eventually get through (that’s assuming you are using a correct phone number)! Plant TOURS go year round this year, even though there is a scheduled maintenance shutdown for the assembly areas each spring.

Many people want to see where Arctic Cat’s are made even if there is no actual production happening.

Mid-May the snowmobile assembly line is scheduled to begin work, with ATV / UTV assemblers tentatively scheduled to go back to work June 1.

How do I find out about touring the Arctic Cat plant? I called a couple numbers and never was able to talk to anyone about when they were on production. I am planning avisit in late may, i am hoping to be able to see the plant. Can anyone help me out?

Amboy is my home town too so it was a pleasure to be able to write about the school to let the thousands of people that come to our site know about Amboy and some of the history.
Wouldn’t it be neat to let everyone know about the cafe too? The cafe that was a gas station…that too is a neat story!

Nice to see this good article about out home town and the work that has been done on the school. My husband and I are on the board and appreciate all the work that has been done to restore this piece of history. Some of the students that came to town when the school closed were in my grade.

What a wonderful website! Including a one room schoolhouse among the attractions is so significant and meaningful. We received an excellent education in a lovely rural setting. The Stenberg girls walked a mile to get there and had countless adventures doing that. I’d like to add also that our younger sister, Virginia, attended Ridge School. Her teacher was Katie Sharp who was for sure the most beautiful teacher ever to lead Ridge. I have to think Katie and Virginia were joyous friendsand knowing her is a highlight in Virginia’s life. Joan and I had Nettie Johnson for five years. I’ll never forget her standing by the window on a cloudy day reading The Jungle Book. Best yet was the day the green curtain was put up and we could start practicing for the Christmas program. Those were the days…I thought they’d never end.

The dedication was superb, Harriet Grover Bonnett played the piano all afternoon featuring the really oldie goodie songs from the Golden Song book.
Blessed thanks to Les Curry for putting it all together in 2006and 2007.

The tours are a seasonal thing. Sometimes the plant shuts down for change in production. Make sure to double check.

I have German Luger holster that my father acquired while in WW II in Europe and I am just wondering if you would be interested in it. It has a spare magazine in the holster and both the holster ( it has a flap on it ) and the magazine appear to be in very good condition. I have toured you facility and one thing I forgot to ask is if you have maps on info on where you have cut timber over the last five to seven years. I enjoy grouse hunting in the area and would like to find areas that have had timber cut on public lands within the last 5 to 7 years in the Grand rapids area. ANy info would be appreciated.

My father worked for Hanna Mining Co. in Hibbing during the 1950’s. While working there, he received a “safety award” of 6 water glasses. He gave them to me 35 years ago and I have stored them and move (and stored and moved) them trying to keep them safe.
